Tool / Toolkit

This Accessibility and Responsiveness Tool – conceived by the Metropolitan Organization to County Sexual Assault (Kansas City), the Rose Brooks Center, and the University Center for Excellence in Development Disabilities – aims to enhance the capacity of service providers and improve the coordination of supports and services for women with disabilities who are victims/survivors of violence. It was developed to ensure involvement across agencies and with women with disabilities with the following three strategic areas of focus:

  • Developing universal design policies and procedures that promote universal design and responsiveness
    within the collaborative partner agencies
  • Expanding safety planning processes and resources to better address the needs of survivors with
    disabilities.
  • Developing relationships and linkages between victim service providers and disability service providers.
