Domestic violence (DV) is a major factor contributing to housing instability and homelessness. Survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence are disproportionately affected, with studies showing that they are four times more likely to experience housing instability compared to the general population. These survivors often face immediate threats to their safety, requiring urgent relocation, temporary, and permanent housing solutions. This report examines how the challenges of housing insecurity are especially impactful for underserved communities, including Black immigrant and refugee populations.
