A covered housing provider must provide a copy of the Notice of Occupancy Rights Under The Violence Against Women Act (Form HUD-5380) when someone is admitted as a tenant, when they receive an eviction or termination notice and prior to termination of tenancy, or when they are denied as an applicant. A covered housing provider may provide these forms at additional times.
If the tenant speaks or reads in a language other than English, their covered housing provider must give them language assistance regarding their VAWA protections (for example, oral interpretation and/or written translation).
