Tribal Safe Housing Center

The Safety, Training, Technical Assistance and Resource Support (STTARS) Indigenous Safe Housing Center works to ensure safety and belonging through Indigenous lifeways and dismantling systemic and enduring barriers that impact housing access for survivors. STTARS elevates culturally rooted resources, practices, policies, and centers survivors with lived experience for real social change. Their work across the housing spectrum prioritizes the needs of all including youth, elders, Natives with disabilities, Two-spirit relatives, and other intersectional identities. This is done by centering Indigeneity, acknowledging our relationship with Earth Mother, building on each other’s gifts, resisting oppression and erasure, and acting upon the prayers of our ancestors to honor diversity, and create belonging.
