Consortium TA Team COVID-19 Special Topic Series: Landlord Engagement: Partnering to Safely House DV & SV Survivors
In the midst of COVID-19 and an eviction crisis, join us for a strategic and timely conversation on engaging and creating partnerships with landlords to safely house survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Participants will learn about a new “navigator initiative” rolling out in rural communities across Nebraska through a partnership between the Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence and the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation. Then, participants will hear from a local program in Maryland – HopeWorks of Howard County will share their experiences, including successes, challenges and lessons learned in cultivating relationships with landlords.
- Lee Heflebower, Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence
- Jason Feldhaus, Nebraska Children and Families Foundation
- Daniela McDonald, HopeWorks of Howard County
The special topic series is designed to give advocates a chance to learn more about the available housing funding for survivors, ask questions, process issues, and provide mutual support on the impact of the COVID-19 virus in safe housing programs.
